- [Narrator] An active classroom must work well, even when students need to be noisy and move around the room to do their work.

- Today the volume in our class should be very much like a library. Everybody’s got...

- [Narrator] Each classroom needs clear guidelines for what is appropriate for noise and movement for different tasks and must practice them.

- As I start this song, what I’m gonna ask you to do is without talking, no voices because this your reflection time.

- [Narrator] Some classrooms and schools have set scales for noise or movement levels.

- For this Do Now we’re going to use small group voices, volume level three.

- Three is... So 20 divided by five equals four, plus five squared...

- [Narrator] Noise and movement may drift to become too rowdy.

- Please you guys, let’s work together to support each other and create an environment that’s like a library...

- [Narrator] So a teacher needs systems for calming things down without nagging.

- And... I noticed that everyone has hands free and eyes on me. Oh, almost everyone! Let’s try one more time because I want everyone’s beautiful eyes on me.
