ELNC19 Plenaries: Dr. Lucas Clamp
Dr. Lucas Clamp, National Principal of the Year, delivers a speech about leadership and innovation in education at the closing plenary of the 2019 EL Education National Conference. Dr. Clamp reflects on what he has learned through recreational shrimping with his family, drawing unexpected and insightful connections to his experience as principal of his River Bluff High School in Lexington, SC. He asks us to reflect on a few questions that apply to both shrimping and education leadership. What conditions are you creating? How big is your net? Are your relationships leaving a legacy on your journey? Dr. Clamp calls on us to "create the right conditions to identify and cast the right net in developing relationships to allow students and leaders to contribute to a better world."
