EL Education school leaders deliberately and strategically foster leadership in others in order to maximize the capacity for positive change. They set up structures and systems for teachers, staff members, and family members to lead school improvement efforts and then empower these individuals to lead the work. Leaders articulate clear decision-making processes and foster an evidence- and data-informed decision-making culture. They invest in the capacity of all members of the school community to access, understand, and use data effectively to make decisions about instruction and school improvement. Grade-level and/or subject-area teams analyze and disaggregate classroom data to drive instruction. A school Leadership Team analyzes schoolwide data and uses it to set goals and implement action plans for school improvement. Leadership and data-inquiry teams and school administration all work together to keep the school on the track of continuous improvement.
