Better World Day 2019 in Detroit: Literacy is a Civil Right
8 schools in Detroit Public Schools Community District joined together to support literacy as a civil right in their city which is declared a book desert. Fifth graders along with local artists and activists built, designed, painted, and stocked 4 little libraries for community organizations that uphold human rights, inspired by the EL Education Language Arts Curriculum module, "Stories of Human Rights."
