Student from Delaware Academy learn about real-life economics through community service
Second graders at Delaware Academy in Syracuse did more than just learn about how grocery stores and local merchants work. They created their own products (chocolate lollipops, greeting cards, and a spice rub) and sold those products to raise nearly eight-hundred dollars.
Then, looking around their community for those in need, the students of Delaware Academy donated all that money to a local pantry called "Bread of Life." In addition, the students walked from their school on Wednesdays to hand out fruit at the pantry during lunch hours.
