Roger White, Principal of Rimrock Expeditionary Alternative Learning Middle School (REALMS) High School in Bend, OR, has been named Bend-LaPine Public School District’s Distinguished Administrator of the Year. For 16 years, Roger has led REALMS -- the middle school --and this year, began leading the new high school which he developed in the past year.

Under Roger's leadership, REALMS Middle School became an EL Education Credentialed School in 2016. The EL Education Credential recognizes schools that have attained remarkable achievement impacts in three areas, all of which are powerfully associated with success in college, career, and life: mastery of knowledge and skills; character; and high-quality work. Thirty-six of the more than 150 schools in the organization’s network have attained the EL Education Credential.

“Roger White does all of this because of his deep passion for helping students learn,” said Jim Boen, Executive Director of Middle Schools and South County. “He is not only a hard worker, but he is also dedicated to his vision of all students learning at a high rate.”

Congratulations, Roger!
