Project Director for EL's Teacher Potential Project on Student-Led Conferences
Meg Riordan, Project Director for EL's Teacher Potential Project, co-authors an Edutopia piece on strategies and goals that can be used by schools who implementing student-led conferences (SLCs) in order to promote student ownership and family engagement.
Differing from the traditional parent-teacher conference, the SLC places students solidly at the center of the conversation to talk knowledgeably about areas of growth and challenge, and to collaboratively set goals with their teacher and family member(s). The conference recognizes students as agents in their education supported by teachers and family.
