Wow! Polaris Charter Academy’s efforts to fight against gun violence was recognized nationally!

Initially the story on how Polaris students addressed the problem of gun violence in their neighborhood ran on on WBEZ, Chicago’s public radio. For two months, students at the school were not allowed to play outside during recess due to the rapid increase in shootings in the area. Students who were frustrated by the situation organized a protest that included marching in their neighborhood and just simply playing outside.

Polaris’ March for Peace spoke volumes, and their story can now be heard on the National Public Radio’s website.

Great work!
