Glenwood Springs Elementary School's "Promising Partnership Practice"

After their yearly EL Education Implementation Review revealed a need to better engage families and community in the life of their school, Glenwood Springs Elementary School (GSES) faculty and staff embarked on a learning journey of their own. Their efforts toward building trusting relationships outside the building via their "Expedicion Comunitaria" have been recognized by the Colorado Department of Education in their yearly "Promising Partnership Practices" report.

In particular, the report noted GSES' staff work in understanding equity, learning about their own cultures, and learning about the culture of the school community through neighborhood walks, "Dinner with Neighbors," and other activities.

A focus on equity and a spirit of continuous improvement are both central to the EL Education model, and we honor GSES for this work and this recognition!
