Franklin School of Innovation Awarded Department of Education Grant
Congratulations to Asheville, North Carolina's Franklin School of Innovation, one of EL's newest partner schools, on being among 16 winners of a major Department of Education Grant!
The $194,000 start-up grant from the Federal Department of Education will help to support a number of important initiatives at Franklin, including curriculum design, professional development, equipment purchases, new supplies, expanding the resources in the school library, and bilingual marketing efforts that will expand the already diverse student population.
"I'm thrilled at the news of financial support for our vision. Our students, Franklin Scholars, apply their knowledge to real-world problems through an integrated focus on service, civic responsibility, and character development," said Michelle Vruwink, Franklin's primary founder and current Executive Director.
