Escalante Middle School Students Make Animas River their Classroom
Students at Durango, CO's Escalante Middle School recently completed field work focusing on the Gold King Mine spill on the Animas River. Students had a chance to get a firsthand look at how the spill impacted aquatic life in the area.
And students didn’t only explore the impact of the spill out in the field. They also had a chance to focus on this major, environmental event in their language arts and social studies.
