Amana Academy Charter Wins STEM School Certification
Following a string of STEM-related recognitions this year, a Georgia Department of Education certification team completed half of its review and named Amana Academy the first Middle School to be STEM Certified in Fulton County and one of only two dozen officially certified STEM schools among the 2300 public schools in Georgia.
The extensive application process required that the school meet rigorous state criteria, including the successful integration of high-level math and science instruction, regular teacher collaboration in STEM, and documentation of support from active and relevant partners. In addition to the certification team visit, the process also included classroom observations and interviews of students, teachers, parents and STEM partners.
