In 2017-2018, we joined together to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. We enjoyed reflecting on our impact, while looking ahead to another 25 years of students "getting smart to do good." Learn more about our 25th Anniversary year below.
Better World Day
On Friday, May 4th, thousands of EL Education students and teachers joined together for Better World Day, a time to honor the power of students across the country to shape a more just future through their learning. School communities shared student work that contributed to a better world and connected with fellow citizen scholars across the country in acts of service.
Our students are leading the way to a better world. An Advisory Board of EL Education students, teachers, and leaders selected a group of exemplary projects in 2017-2018 that joined character to scholarship, contributed to the community, and built bridges of understanding across differences. Discover the 18 winning Better World Projects and use the hashtag #BetterWorldProject on social media to explore their work.
1,200 attendees converged at our #EL25 2017 National Conference in Chicago, featuring 90 master classes helping educators fulfill their highest aspirations. Students took center stage, reminding us that the most important thing about 25 years of EL Education is not our past, but our future, a future where all students can become exceptional scholars and ethical people through schoolwork that matters.
