In 2013 Polaris had a big problem - with math.  Embarking on a revolution by starting with a pilot, Polaris set out to change our math culture and impact math instruction. Over the next six years, we have integrated five research based components that have allowed our math to be less problematic and inspired us to be strategic problem solvers. Come experience and engage in our math culture by digging into the most central of our components: Problem Solving. With roots in CGI (Cognitively Guided Instruction), our K-6 classrooms engage daily in problem solving to developing independent critical thinkers and strong communicators. Come to consider the relationship between Teaching Mathematics (Core Practice 15), Checking for Understanding in Daily Instruction (Core Practice 29) and the deep work of Fostering Habits of Character (Core Practice 22). Come solve your math problems with Polaris!
