“We Are Crew” applies to not only the social and emotional well-being of the EL Education Community, but to physical health and safety as well. As such, the Leading Teams Institute will be held virtually June 22-24, 2020.
EL Education staff are highly skilled at facilitating impactful professional development both in person and virtually - and we are excited to be able to offer this institute while keeping our communities safe. This institute will be re-imagined for a virtual space so that participants begin the 2020-2021 school year prepared to improve the impact and accountability of teams - especially in these rapidly changing times.
Teachers tasked as team or committee leaders, department chairpersons, and initiative owners often move into these leadership roles with little or no professional development or support, and are given the additional responsibility of leading their adult peers without ample time to plan or grow their own skill sets in advance. This institute supports grade-level team leaders, content-specific team leaders, or other staff members who lead a team of their peers. These teacher leaders will learn specific skills and structures to productively lead meetings, strategically use protocols to structure conversations, deliberately build and sustain a strong adult culture, and increase their own emotional intelligence and self-awareness. This institute is designed for teacher leaders and those who support them to improve the impact and accountability of teams as well as a school’s overall approach to collaborative, student-centered adult work.
Registration will remain open until June 8th or until the institute fills. Many institutes fill quickly, please register early to ensure a spot.
