What can engagement, empowerment, and challenge look like now? This one day offering will begin with an overview of developmentally appropriate practice for primary, intermediate, and adolescent learners, and explore how those concepts can shape remote instruction. We will share what we’ve learned about how remote instruction can continue to engage students in purposeful learning that pursues worthy questions, empower students as leaders of their own learning, and offer both challenge and support that respects the range of what students and families are experiencing. Best practice in differentiating instruction to meet the varying needs of students will be explored, with particular emphasis on supports for multilingual students.
