Chief Partnerships OfficerWhat is the best advice you've ever been given?
Lean into your uniqueness. Instead of shrinking back to fit a mold, make the most of the experiences you bring to the table!
How has your work at EL changed your perception of student achievement?
I first worked with EL Education as a teacher in the 1990's, and it complicated my perception of achievement as much more than grades and test scores. Achievement is multidimensional just like the students we serve. It is about how students experience school including their sense of belonging, their commitment to producing high-quality work that is personally meaningful, and their level of curiosity and engagement as they build knowledge and skills. My work at EL continues to help me complexify the ways I understand achievement.
Crew means belonging.
